How to connect manually for UgCS PRO and EXPERT licenses

Make sure that both devices are in the same network and no restrictions with the firewall/antivirus or any other system on your computer.

This type of connection can be used for UgCS PRO and EXPERT licenses.

Create a hotspot on the Android device.

Connect the laptop to the created hotspot.

Note: wait until the laptop gets an IP address assigned.

Start UgCS for DJI on the Android device.

Start UgCS desktop on the laptop. If the connection is not set automatically then do the following:

  1. On Windows run terminal (cmd) and ping tablet’s IP address to check connection (on macOS: Application > Utilities > Terminal.app). To get IP address open Settings in UgCS for DJI. Tablet’s IP address is shown in the field Network.

Ping example:
C:\Users\USER>ping 192.168.88.121
Pinging 192.168.88.121 with 32 bytes of data:

Ping statistics for 192.168.88.121:

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 46ms, Maximum = 123ms, Average = 81ms
If the ping is like in the example then perform the next step.

  1. In UgCS desktop create new VSM: click Main menu -> Configuration -> VSM -> click Add
    Set Name, Host = IP address, and Port.

The IP address and Port can be found in Settings of UgCS for DJI:

Wait for 2 minutes. Afterward, check if the drone is connected to the UgCS desktop:

  • Vehicle card will be added (upper left corner)
  • Vehicle will be in the list in Main menu -> Vehicles -> Uplink connected / Downlink connected
